Tattoo Regret: A Dad’s Struggle for His Daughter’s Future

A father from Australia, once known for his extreme body modifications, is making a significant transformation for his young daughter. Ethan Bramble, also called “ModBoy,” began altering his appearance at just 11 years old, starting with stretched ears. Over the years, he covered himself with over 200 tattoos, spent nearly $39,000 USD on body art, and even underwent extreme procedures like splitting his tongue and removing his belly button.

Though he once embraced his unique look, Ethan now admits that some choices have caused him to reconsider. He shared that his face tattoos, in particular, have led to unwanted attention and concern about how he’s perceived in everyday life. One of his biggest worries is how these judgments could affect his daughter, especially when he takes her to school. Ethan reflected, “I wish I hadn’t gone as far as I did with my face.”

In an effort to change, Ethan has been undergoing laser tattoo removal for the past year. The process, which he describes as painful and tedious, has already involved multiple sessions. Despite the challenges, he’s committed to continuing the treatments until his facial tattoos are significantly faded. He believes this shift will help alleviate some of the anxiety he’s experienced over the years.

While Ethan still appreciates the body art that once defined him, he’s now focused on presenting a different image. He explained, “I’m happy with who I am, but also with the idea of clearing the canvas.” For Ethan, this change is as much about mental clarity as it is about physical appearance—a transformation that reflects his evolving priorities as a father.
